Power-line inspection
Power-line corridor interpretation and PLS-CADD project preparation to the Grid Operator's specification
We extract power lines, towers, conductors and corridor objects. We prepare classified point clouds and vector deliverables to grid-operator specifications.
The workflow accounts for terrain, vegetation, hydrography and roads. We check deliverable quality before the data enters downstream engineering work.
The task
Prepare line and corridor data for engineering inspection by identifying power-line elements, nearby objects and areas that require specialist attention.
Input data
We use point clouds and available route documentation together with the class specification, target-object list and format requirements. We check the completeness of the source package before work begins.
Workflow
- Clarify corridor boundaries, the class system and grid-operator requirements.
- Extract towers, conductors, vegetation, terrain and other objects included in the task.
- Check continuity and completeness, then assemble the agreed delivery package.
Deliverables
Deliverables may include a classified point cloud, vector objects and supporting corridor materials. The exact class set and file formats are defined by the requirements of each project.
Quality control
We inspect representative line sections, crossings, difficult terrain and dense vegetation. Checks follow the agreed specification, and doubtful areas are reviewed by a specialist.
